Hybrid
  • London, England, United Kingdom
People + Operations

Job description

We are Resi, the UK's number one home extension company, and we are looking to hire a Head of Finance to join our management team on a full-time permanent basis. If you are looking to accelerate your career and work with full accountability alongside the founders and leadership then this role is for you.

At Resi, we help everyday homeowners design, finance, and build their dream homes without the stress and, most importantly, without breaking the bank. The innovations that we are bringing to market have genuinely never been seen in this industry before - we are at the forefront of changing a highly inefficient, costly, and frustrating customer experience by delivering high-quality projects quickly, affordably, and in a climate-considerate way. Our north star is to provide Happy Homes on a national scale.

As Head of Finance, you will be fully accountable for the finance operations at Resi. You’ll take full ownership of the finance function from the day-to-day operations, and accounting/reporting to strategic financial planning and business partnering. You’ll also play a key role in economic strategy and fundraising alongside the founders and will lead on budgeting and cost control.

You will develop a deep knowledge of the levers for the business, adapting the reporting as the company grows and evolves and bringing commercial acumen to internal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting

  • Preparation and design of management accounts
  • Preparation of design of board packs alongside co-founders
  • Working closely with the founders and Exec team on data and analytics and how that supports decision-making across the business

Forecasting

  • Short-term cash flow forecasting (13-week rolling tactical cashflow)
  • 2-year monthly forecast model - including running scenarios
  • 5-year yearly forecast model

Financial controls and policies

  • Financial controls in place to make sure, including coordinating with Ops teams on collections
  • Payroll
  • Support the annual Audit process
  • End-of-year submissions

Financial Strategy

  • Preparation of materials to support fundraising and involvement in pitching as required
  • Recommendations to increase the profitability of the business to commercial stakeholders within the team

Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Ownership and delivery of accounting processes that support the Management of Accounting
  • Point of contact for external accountants
  • Reconciliations, including demonstrating a strong understanding of the makeup of the balance sheet
  • VAT returns
  • HMRC / Companies House submissions, including those for share options schemes
  • Pension administration
  • Oversight of the Cap Table and management of insurance policies

Job requirements

About You - You will ideally have:

  • 4-5 years of business and finance experience
  • Chartered accountant
  • Experience managing a small finance team
  • Ability to interact with the board and investors
  • Ideally working at a head of finance level, financial controller, or as a senior finance manager
  • Articulate and commercially astute
  • A passion for technology innovation and driven by new ideas

You might be an even better fit if you have:

  • Previous knowledge or experience working within the property, architecture, or construction sectors
  • An interest in architecture/home improvement
  • An understanding of the lifecycle of a house extension project - maybe you have renovated your own home?
